I had been to visit some places quite few months back with my friends, where we met an American couple. I suppose they are octogenarians. There was a long queue before us and so we had ample time to chat with them. We talked about Indian food, lifestyle, of course, Indian politics and culture ostentatiously. They appraised India for having a scientist as its President and an economist as its Prime Minister.
I truly believe that honest, active, literate, knowledgeable leader is the core building block for the nation’s growth and its people welfare.
“A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don't necessarily want to go. Leadership should be more participative than directive, more enabling than performing.”
But I am not perfectly contented with the government. It appears that the government has dropped to maintain the status quo, accentuating problems which caused in Mumbai and that happens almost everyday in Srinagar.
The unexpected blast incident in one of the busiest business Indian site is unforgettable. The government has been instructed of such blast expectations by the esoteric security agencies but fell into the deaf ears. It is an irony to expect a government to save, when it is unable to stand itself solely and save its own government from the wretched tentacles of third grade politicians.
But the government has not stopped its rituals after the agony of fire hit. The PM appeared on the television declaring that the nation stand united to face the war against terrorism and the nation will not kneel. The Congress president and other party leaders paid visits to all the hospitals in and around Mumbai, talked to the citizens and made public statements and politicize it.
The fear and faint of the incident will vanish as the day goes by and the tightened security will be relaxed in public areas until the next intense incident and strengthened for the cheap useless politicians.
Here is the question that pops up in all minds. Don’t we have any strategic plans to secure our nation?
Any strategy can be successful only if it is framed only by a seer who is thoughts of future vision. We do have the seers in the powerful chairs of the nation. One of the tests of leadership is, in fact, the ability to recognize a problem before it becomes an emergency.
Now it doubts whether Mr. PM – a right person in the wrong place? Or a wrong person in place? Can the PM perform his duties freely without any interventions and with high liberties?
The behaviors and every move of PM is dictated and powered by the party and its allies. This is the weakest item for a PM. Can the person, not in power once, at the southern tip of the nation, control the center just because of the magic number? It is truth that the PM bursts and strives for his own freedom inside the party of evil members. Unless there is an effective PM…
The government must be clear in its agenda - the agenda against terrorism. A stringent law must be enforced against terrorist. Once a person is suspected for, he must be in camera. Even the civil rights of such persons can be scrapped. The culprits involved in the blasts have to be brought before law including those who are its supporters. No more….
India cannot digest the killing of its own people by its own fellow citizens disguised in the name of sacred war. No more….
India always inhales the interventions that will cause us to speak in the plethora of tongues, plethora of dialects, etc. The nation must discharge its clear cut idea on the talks with the Pakistan. The actions of Pak behind scenes must be brought to light.
"Let Satan do not utter Holy verses anymore". Let they stop to help the militancy against India and talk later. We have enough experiences from the neighbors. It’s high time we understand and act accordingly.
We ought to learn from Middle East nation – Israel, which is as tiny as our Kerala state. Israel can resist and survive against all its bitter surroundings. It’s the living theory “Survival of the fittest” put in practical.

Election results 2006– Counter Currents
Refer to http://sify.com/news/electionresults/
On analysis, 2006 election results across the country tells something fishy.
Do the people always need a change in government?
Do people still hail the fancy manifestoes?
Is Congress alive in some parts of the country?
Is captain an emerging star in TN political world?
A sect of the people in in the Kerala and TN has wished for a change in the government. Though such changing scenario is quite common in Kerala, in TN a different atmosphere has taken place.
People opted for DMK and ADMK equally. No single party has gained a clear majority in the state but the alliance won. It’s good news for the TN Congress. It still has hopes in TN. :-)
One cannot take DMK’s triumph as anti- ADMK. The latter has gained more seats in Chennai this time. The action during vagaries of nature has resulted into votes for ADMK. The inaction of DMK during these times has shattered its voters' spirit in Chennai. It is unexpected truth that the captain has split the vote bank of the two major parties in the state.
The Sangham- turned- party PMK has failed and has learnt a lesson that it’s not a single evolving ‘king-making’ party in the state. MDMK needs a renovation in the party and indeed rejuvenation.
The importance to the DMK manifestoes experienced a steep rise only after ADMK chief gave competitive statements. She should have not changed her stance on objecting the DMK manifestoes and should continue saying it won’t be possible. That would have made DMK’s formula incorrect. Instead, she announced for 10kgs rice and computer for DMK’s 2kg and television which made people perplex. These statements jeopardized ADMK and resulted in an unexpected catastrophe.
The captain is an emerging star in TN political world. He holds wide range of votes. The votes for Vijaykanth was from the people who
- Wished for an alternative party and a change.
- Were eagerly waiting for a new face and new manifestoes.
- Voted just like that
Lessons taught/neglected:
If a party continues its power may weaken the state. The party will monopolize and may perform at its own wishes with the notion that there is no one to question them. The happenings in West Bengal are the true picture of such intuition.
West Bengal is the communists’ castle. People always opt for the leftists because they enjoy the comforts provided by their unions and uncared environment. I heard my friends saying that the government staffs never tend to work for the god sake. Kudos Commandoes! The state will step into the development. The corruptions and under world is not yet brought to light because of the 30 years continuous regime of communists in the state. The communists claim themselves as the good rulers and clean handed now. The ineffective oppositions - Congress and Mamtha /BJP failed in the state. Hence I hope the people opted for a new government in some states.
The Congress party has reached its expectations in the recent elections. Sonia, the portrait of Congress, has won the hide and seeks play in Amethi constituency. The party firmly extended its roots in Pondicherry and also bagged good amount of seats in TN. It is a very nice opportunity for them to mingle with the state politics. The wishes of the TN Congressmen to join the TN ministry have fallen into deaf ears. Again DMK has won the ugly politics contradicting its chief’s statement that it was ready of coalition government in the state. I remember a statement by some unknown author - ‘If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?’
This is what happened in Indian politics this month. The politics in India will always be cinematic with comedians, villains, heroes & heroines; in fact it has its own glamour and tragedies.
More to come…
But you know, “Truth is not determined by majority vote.”

TamilNadu Election fiesta - 2006

The carnival has started and it has reached its peak in the southern state of India. The state's election history portrays it as always jubilant and talked across the country. The tale will never end and this time it is even more ironical and sarcastic.
The teams in the war are the ruling AIADMK and DMK - supported by the other parties and of course, by their own televisions. The contrasting news, humiliating election jargons along the streets and the unbelievable captivating election pronunciamentos are not minimum this time too. In fact, it is even higher than the earlier elections.
Free rice in PDS, free televisions, free gold, free computers, etc are really election fantasies. The whims and vagaries of the today’s politicians is under the limelight. The actual question - 'Is this mission possible?'
The politicians in the arena are ready to declare and give anything as it comes to their mind. Do they really estimate the welfare of the people? Do they think what is in treasury?
The hypothesis behind their election campaign is naked. These schemes are impossible though they claim as achievable. If at all they are going to inaugurate the schemes after coming to power, it won’t be a long lasting one.
For the sake of argument, assuming DMK is coming to power, the new government will have its own usual approach claiming that the AIADMK has left behind a void treasury. If AIADMK were resuming the power, these schemes will go to the trash as the other schemes.
'Has the DMK and ADMK chiefs sat vis-à-vis at the assembly table?' No. Not at all. Even the parties claiming themselves as the leaders of democracy have their mouths shut on this issue.
When we look at parties in the election fray its explicit that an alternative for the Kazhagams is the need of the hour. The Congress party, indeed has not learnt this. The party is digging its own yard in the state. Internal Quarrels and Congress are twins. The party has last its another opportunity.
MDMK - The party in wrong path. Is the talent leader leading to the ambush?
Communists - Theoretically honest and industrious but practically disabled. Their stands at the center and in other neighbouring states are really ambiguous.
PMK - The party claims itself as the one that often lives with the environment. Is this why they change their colors?
Vijayakanth's party an offspring.
Who is going to grab the CM seat? Will any party win the majority? If so which one is that? Will this be the last election for someone? Will Stalin/Maran become the CM? Will PMK/Congress join ADMK if the latter wins? Or will DMK and MDMK join together under the same banner?
TIME need to answer these questions...
Another important question.. Are you going to vote?.
Only you know the answer.:-)
